2024 NFL Draft: Trevin Wallace Scouting Report
Coming from Jesup, Georgia, Trevin Wallace was a consensus four-star recruit and was by many accounts the second-best inside linebacker of the 2021 recruiting class. He was a two-way player and brought that athleticism to Kentucky. As a true freshman, Wallas made an immediate impact. With 12 appearances and one start, Wallace accounted for 32 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks, a pass breakup, and forced a fumble. He earned All-SEC Freshman honors.
As a sophomore Wallace appeared in another 12 games with six starts, upping his impact. In total, he amassed 54 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and added a pair of interceptions. Prior to the 2023 season, Wallace was named to the Butkus Award Watchlist as he was set to take another step in his development. This time, he was a full 12-game starter for the Wildcats. He was voted as Team Captain for the team and repaid them with 80 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, an interception, and a forced fumble.
Wallace was an underrated freak athlete of a linebacker who is set to make an impact at the NFL level. He was one of the few underclassmen to be invited to the Senior Bowl.
Strengths
- Incredibly pathetic; 9.34 RAS, seventh-highest in class
- Clocked at 22 mph
- Has incredible burst and lateral ability
- Has the mentality of a running back at the linebacker position
- Will haul in an interception if given the opportunity
- Team Captain as a junior
- Adept at both pass rush and run defense

Weaknesses
- Could get fooled by misdirection
- Has shown that he can be manipulated by the quarterback by staring into the backfield and missing his zone
- Instincts and play recognition will need development
- Could afford to add weight and improve play strength
- Can spy the quarterback but tends to break late

Bottom Line on Trevin Wallace
Trevin Wallace has just about everything that will make an NFL team fall in love. He was a productive member of an SEC defense for three years and has an incredible athletic profile. Wallas can do just about everything a defensive coordinator could ask and he just turned 21 years old.
He does rely on that athleticism a bit and can get tricked into over-pursuing or locking his eyes onto the backfield. Wallace has the burst and motor to make the play wherever needed but he will need to develop play recognition.
Wallace has a very high ceiling and can develop into a Pro Bowl-level linebacker. He has all of the tools needed and most of his deficiencies can be coached out.
