Cody Davis had a night he will never forget on Christmas Eve. And he got the best possible present.
In the third quarter, Marvin Mims Jr. fumbled the initial punt, but was able to recover. He snagged it, charging forward. However, Marte Mapu knocked the ball loose and it was Davis who recovered it in the end zone. This was his first career touchdown.

And the special teamer did a minimal celebration with his teammates. So much so, that his coach had one main question for him after the game.
"I actually joked with him after the game, not during, that he didn't celebrate the touchdown as much," special teams coach Cam Achord said. "He goes, 'I know I have to go and cover another kick.' So that's just his mindset, so I couldn't be happier for that guy."
He was then asked if Davis' answer was a "Bill Belichick approved" response. With that, Achord just laughed.
"I really appreciate our players. They are in tune to situations," he said. "That's the perfect answer and just shows how much time we invest in the situation, the guys understanding the game of football."
Davis started the season on the reserve/PUP list, but was activated on Oct. 21. So for him to get this major accomplishment after how he started the season was just what he needed.
"Being able to come back from the injury last season and you obviously see all the hard work that he's put into it with the strength staff. They've done a great job," Achord said. "Anything you get to see a guy come back from that and have some success out on the field, and Cody being the person he is, couldn't be happier for him."
